It’s spring and that means it’s also festival season. The best part of festival season is that there is always something going on all over town. Here are the list of family friendly fairs and festivals happening in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish in March, April and May. Have fun!
March Festivals and Fairs
Louisiana Crawfish Festival: March 23rd-26th. $5 Admission Fee. Rides, live entertainment, crawfish and more at the St. Bernard Government Complex.
NOLA Disability Pride Festival: March 25th from 11 am – 3 pm at the Advocacy Center of La. Resource fair, crafts, games, activities, live entertainment and more.
Fete Francaise: March 25th from 11 am – 5 pm at Ecole Biligue de la Nouvelle Orleans. Food, music, children’s activities and more celebrating the French heritage of Louisiana.
Family Pyrate Day in Old Algiers Point: March 25th from 11 am – 5 pm at Confetti Park. Storytellers, music, games and more.
Terrytown Food Tuck Festival: March 25th from 4 – 10 pm at Terrytown Playground. Food trucks, rides, entertainment and more.
April Fairs and Festivals
Delgado Music Festival: March 31st and April 1st at Delgado Community College. The festival benefits the Delgado Music Department.
Hogs For the Cause: March 31st – April 1st at the UNO Lakefront Arena Grounds. Annual music festival and barbecue competition that raises money for pediatric brain cancer. Ticket prices vary.
Kenner’s Italian Heritage Festival: March 31st – April 2nd in Rivertown. Italian cuisine, children’s activities, rides, music and more. $5 admission, 12 and under FREE.
Freret Street Festival: April 1st from 11 am – 6 pm. Live music, pet adoptions, food and more.
French Quarter Festival: April 6th – 9th in the French Quarter. 34th annual music festival with 23 stages of live entertainment and food from local restaurants. Free admission.
Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival: April 7th – 9th at Memorial Park in Ponchatoula. Outdoor festival with rides, games, music, and of course strawberries. Free admission.
Gretna Food Truck Fest: April 15th from 5-9 pm under the market in Downtown Gretna.
Lake Pontchartrain Craft Fair: April 22nd from 10 am – 4 pm at the New Canal Street Light House. Craft fair, Earth Day celebrations, light house tours and more.
Youth Fit Fest: April 22nd from 10 am – 2 pm at Milne Playground. Activities for youth focusing on staying active, healthy eating, and being physically fit. Free admission.
Pinch A Palooza: April 23rd from 10 am – 9:30 pm at Deanies Seafood in Bucktown. Live music, food, games and more.
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival: April 28th – April 30th at the New Orleans Fairgrounds.
May Fairs and Festivals
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival: May 4th – 7th at the New Orleans Fairgrounds.
Maifest: May 13th in Downtown Gretna. Celebrate Spring in German style with music, brats, food, art market and more.
Zulu on the Bayou Mother’s Day Festival: May 14th from 11 am – 7 pm on Bayou St. John. Music, food and fun. Free admission
Bayou Boogaloo: May 19th – 21st on Bayou St. John. Music, food, crafts and more.
New Orleans Greek Festival: May 26th-29th at 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd., NOLA. Greek food, live music and family fun.
